WASSCE (I) How to get excellent grades

click hear!
West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), is an examination conducted by WAEC to some anglophone west African countries including: Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leon, Liberia, and the Gambia.
The examination is for certification and selection into tertiary institutions.
Unfortunately, this examination has been a stabling block to many students who dream of attaining higher academic heights
The purpose of the WASSCE series on this blog is to delve into the reason why students has not been able to easily pass their WASSCE exams and to find possible solutions to the problem.
According to recent comment from the minister of education only a few SHS graduates are able to enroll in tertiary institutions right after school because of mass failure, majority of them have to resit for the exam for about two, three and even four times before they can obtain the required grades for university.

Having a good WASSCE grades can secure a very promising and a bright future for a student whether rich or poor
Example: in the 2016 WASSCE a needy but brilliant student from navrongo senior high school who obtained a straight 8As in his WASSCE exam has received a multiple scholarship and now in the university pursuing his dream meanwhile his would have been shattered if had failed because he couldn't have been able to pay for resit.

Failure in the WASSCE can be attributed to many factors but for the meantime I will like to emphasize on a very important one and bring you the rest in my subsequent posts in this series.
Students mostly fail the WASSCE Exam because they don't understand the structure of the exam papers and how they are required to answer them.
During one of my WASSCE Exams I realized that many candidates don't have a fair idear of what to expect in the exam room, this led many candidates astray, deviating totally in answering the questions.
During my Geography 3 paper, a certain girl sitting next to me nearly missed 25 marks because she did not know that a question was compulsory, and I know this has happened to many candidates.
It is good to bear in mind that passing WASSCE is not necessarily being with your book all the time but your general understanding and attitude towards the Exams. I recommend this E BOOK if you want to know more about passing your exam without being a bookworm

to solve this problem I recommend strongly that candidates should visit WAEC's website and read thoroughly the scheme of exam ahead of the exam, this will help you to know everything about the exam and help you not to go astray in the exam hall
Candidates should also look for Chief examiner's report on previous exams to learn more about mistakes that most candidates often does and how to avoid them. The chief examiners report is available in PDF on WAEC's website.
at www.waecgh.org

On the website tap on Examinations, you will see a drop-down menu select Chief examiners report and download the report for any year's exam you want
I recommend that you download the most current one

In the report, detailed explanation is given on all the subjects, the mistakes candidates does mostly and how how to avoid them.
