University of Ghana holds 2018 matriculation ceremony.

University of Ghana is the oldest and the best among the public as well as private universities in Ghana.

Established in 1948 as the university college of the gold coast affiliated to the university of London, university of Ghana have served as the reservoir of Ghana's human resources.

The university has produced notable alumnus including Presidents, Diplomats, seasoned lawyers, and many international icons.

Before the beginning of each academic year, the university receives huge number of applications to be considered in various programs such as certificate, diploma, undergrad., master as well as PhD.

As a result of limited staff and facilities, the university is always left with no choice than to turn down the applications of some applicant even though they are qualified.

This year (2018/2019 academic year), the university received nearly fifty thousand applications of which it was able to admit sixty percent of these applicants.

In a ceremony to officially accept the newly admitted student as junior members into the university community on 22nd September 2018, the vice chancellor of the university, Professor Ebenezer Oduro admonished the new students to be law abiding and stick to the basic purpose for which they are in the university,

He also charged them to be discipline and uphold the integrity of the institution, he further advice students to be aware that they are now in I different environment where freedom is given to each and everyone to decide freely on what life to live, he said it is the duty of the students to make good use of this freedom.

The vice chancellor further advised the new students to be time conscious.

Mrs Hazel Ashia, the registrar led the students to take the matriculation oath that binds them to be law abiding and to respect authorities.

The Matricula was therefore signed on behalf of the students.
